Technical Committee

Tech committee's ambition is for ieee.ucsd.edu to be no less than the greatest website on the internet. The activities of tech committee break down into three primary areas:

• User Experience and Design
• Application Development
• Shared Services and Infrastructure

Business Committee

Want to learn how to close a deal, give a perfect speech, and communicate with anyone at any time? Want to build a network with the corporate world that can help shape your future career? Join IEEE business committee where you will build skills in communication, negotiation, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Seek contacts from external sources: companies, organizations, schools, government, etc.
• Solicit sponsorships, guest speakers, company appearances, and any other opportunities that are beneficial to our student body
• Attend and help with IEEE events when needed
• Make flyers, brochures, and publications to help advertise and market IEEE’s events to students, companies, and university departments.

Operations Committee

Want to handle the planning, logistics, and action that make an organization run smoothly? The operations committee is responsible for turning visions into realities. Join operations committee if you want to gain experience in event planning, advertising, and execution.

Responsibilities

• See events through from inception to completion
• Do the hands-on work that make events happen: book locations, coordinate food, set up tables and chairs, layout, schedules, etc.
• Advertise events through flyers, brochures, letters, and classroom announcements
